Press Release - Winter 2008/ 2009

Alpha Alpine Action and Relaxing Mountain Living

The Clubhouse, France’s first Alpine boutique hotel and members’ bar celebrates its fourth winter season with a fresh selection of fantastic ways to relax after enjoying the world-class skiing of Chamonix.

Already famed for its cocktails, the louche luxury of the Myla Suite and winter BBQs in the shadow of moonlit Mont Blanc, The Clubhouse (brought to you by the people behind the legendary Milk & Honey members’ bars in London & New York) is extending the range of attractions it offers - and there’s still not a cuckoo clock in sight.

New Season
The Clubhouse opens for the winter season from 30 November - 11 May 2008. Chamonix is one of the very top destinations in the world for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, and The Clubhouse is in the heart of town.

Winter Food
After another successful summer season, Head Chef Mark Webb (Chez Bruce and La Trompette) has devised the perfect winter combination of fresh ingredients, seasonal specialities and a menu unique in Chamonix. Warning: lunching at The Clubhouse may cause you to skip the afternoon session on the Grands Montets, however fresh the powder. Sipping a selection from our reserve wine list, laze over a leisurely Sunday Brunch of kedgeree or Eggs Florentine with a selection of a day’s paper or our selection of international magazines, and lunch will soon turn into the first Martini of the evening...

Our ‘a la carte’ two or three course menu (30/35 €) is available Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday evenings. Sample menus can be found at clubhouse.fr

The Clubhouse Snow BBQ is back for winter as Chef Webb sizzles into alfresco mode and raises the temperature on the terrace. For 15€ sit back and await the mouth-watering spicy merguez, the finest burgers and the best steaks, skewers and seasonal ingredients.

On Wednesday we continue the very popular Big Wednesday Big Bowl nights. For only 18€ you can enjoy the weekly special menu such as Thai green curry and coriander rice, hearty beef stew – plus a sublime dessert of the week.

Sunday’s Roast is an all-time valley must and we’re converting the locals to our Roast Beef ways. And, not a fondue in sight.

Bookings
Reservations are available throughout the season on a three, four or seven night stay basis with prices per night ranging from 65€ to 180€ per person per night (half board).

The Clubhouse continues to be the default mention for laid-back unpretentious style and winter chalet chic. With signature favourites of action on demand, classic cocktails, X5 transfers, Myla sex toys in the mini-bars, a myriad of mountain activities and the best spa treatments.
